UNC REX Hospital Behavioral Health

UNC REX Healthcare was able to build a new holding area for behavioral health patients seeking treatment in the Emergency Department (ED), thanks to an anonymous donor who contributed $2.5 million.

Brookwood was selected to provide construction management services for the separate behavioral health zone that included eight private rooms with an open common area, lots of windows to let in daylight and more. The new space improves the care, support and healing of patients, and the safety of all visitors and staff. It is adjacent to the ED and opened in March 2017.
